I love the book. It's very understandable. The breakdown of the necessary information that are a MUST know was very helpful to me. My only problem now is that I have come to realize that I need to purchase the Flash Cards for a deeper understanding.
I found the information easy to read and understand, thanks for breaking down all the chemical lingo. I love the illustrations and feel I know better what to look for in products.
Hello Tonya I just would like to send a big thank you. I'm hooked to your YouTube channel I have learned so much about my low porosity hair. I'm relaxed cream of nature products and aphogee and Blue Magic along with the Aussie...etc. What's your thoughts Joico moisture recovery products?
I purchased your Curly Girl's Guide, Practical Solutions for Natural Hair, and Natural Hair Care Wisdom Flash Cards and read them almost immediately! I was so eager to learn and understand about my hair as it has been such a challenge taking care of it. I've been natural since 2016 and have seen growth but not nearly as much as I believe I should have seven years into this journey. This is my second go-round of being natural. The first time my hair did well but, honestly, I do not recall what I did. I guess I got lucky but this second time - ugh. I understand some of the external stressors but I simply cannot figure out my hair right now. It has been so frustrating and defeating! When I saw Curly Chemistry on Instagram I became immediately intrigued and viewed a lot of your posts which encouraged me to not give up on my natural tresses. I am very happy that you see the need for natural haircare education that has been overlooked; that is understanding hair growth, what we put in our hair, and, why we do and need it. I have been making decisions based on what's trending and that is what a lot of these hair care manufacturers know. I will NOT be doing that anymore. After reading my materials, I threw out all the products that were not good for my hair, made a list of what I needed to get, and set up a hair care regimen to use going forward. I feel so much better now that I have your materials and I understand more of what I was doing wrong and doing right. Your website is a favorite bookmark and I can't wait to see my hair a year from now! Thank you and I appreciate all that you do.
I recently purchased the Natural Hair Wisdom Flash Cards and The Curly Girl's Guide from CurlyChemistry.com and have found them to be enlightening and very informative! The chemistry content is detailed yet not overwhelming, which is great for someone wanting to know more about hair care products and why certain products are necessary to healthy hair. Both resources are making me look at my hair care routine through a different lens and I highly recommend them to all our Curlfriends!
