I have sisterlocks and I try to stay away from creamy or thick products that may leave a residue. I am not able to use traditional conditioners and would rather not risk getting build up in my locs by watering down a traditional conditioner. That said, this tea rinse is a perfect leave-in conditioner for daily use and as a traditional conditioner on wash days. On wash days, I follow the instructions for preparing the tea and allow it to cool down (usually preparing the night before wash day). I wash my hair with shampoo, rinse out the shampoo, pour the tea rinse in my hair, and leave it in for 3-5 minutes than rinse out. I use the remaining tea rinse and pour it in my mist sprayer to use as a daily moisturizer throughout the week. Again, this is what works for my sisterlocks and may be different for other loc wearers and certainly different for loose naturals who can use more products than most loc wearers like myself. This provides moisture to my locs so that they don't feel dried out and I think this is a perfect for loc wearers who are weary of using rose water (which is an astringent that can dry our locs out. I know many disagree with this opinion) or who want products that are transparent and will not create residue on our locs. This works better for me then the distilled water/aloe juice mix I was using. It also lasts a long time! I'm ordering a second batch but I still have quite a few tea packets from my last batch. I highly recommend!
It’s only been a week of use but I noticed the difference from the very first! Melts my curls making them more manageable and my hair is so soft! Please never change and keep selling! Thank you!
Wonderful!!
I’ve been using this routine for both my mom and myself since October 2024 and our hair feels great. We keep our hair hydrated during the week with spritzing the tea rinse and baobaob mix interchangeably.
